Albany, Bike ride with Tim and Harry

Today we cycled to the wind farm and back which was 30km.  We went with Tim and Harry in the afternoon.  We went to an Indian restaurant with Tim and Harry Again.  After that we went to an ice cream shop with Tim and Harry again!!!

Albany

On Friday we got up early and got ready to go on a bike ride with Tim and his family.  We met at 9:30 at three anchors cafe.  We were going on a 30k bike ride to the Wind Farm.  After that we all went back to Tim’s accommodation to have lunch. When we got back to our campsite I played with my friends.  Then I had a shower and we went out to a Indian restaurant called Curry Leaf with Tim’s family.  I had Mango and Butter Chicken, IT WAS DELICIOUS!

Albany, meeting friends

Today we met are friends Lucy and Issy.  They used to go to W.L.P.S in pre-primary in 2008.    First we stuffed are faces with, cup cakes, ANZAK biscuits, Blueberry muffins, Sandwiches  and chocolate muffins.

On the 25/4/13 we went to the ANZAC Parade with one of My friends Lucy.  After that we went back to there house had lunch and met some boys called Xav and Ras.  They were staying at Lucy and Issy’s house.  Later after we had lunch Lucy came over to our campsite and we went in the pool and spa together.  I also introduced her to some of my friends I met on the campsite.

Albany, Western Australia

So the trip has finally begun!  It seems like we’ve been planning it for ages and yet we still had a mad panic in the last few days to get onto the road.

We’re in Albany on the south coast of Western Australia.  We arrived in pouring rain and got soaked setting up the camper trailer.  Still, it was a lot easier and quicker than putting up our old tent.  The weather has been cool (by Perth standards) but sunny, Emily and Oliver have wasted no time making friends with the other kids on the site.

The camper trailer has been very comfortable, although we’ve brought too much stuff and  will need to put things into storage when we pass through Perth on our way north.  We’re also very happy with the car that we bought to tow the camper trailer (because our old car would have struggled).

Richard bashed his knee on the tow hitch a couple of weeks ago, it’s still swollen and doesn’t seem to be improving so he might need need to get it checked.

We cycled to Emu Point yesterday, we saw lots of lizards and a Tiger Snake by the cycle path.  We bumped into some friends (not literally) who moved here from Perth a few years ago – Emily was delighted to meet up with Lucy, her old friend from school.

This morning we went to the ANZAC Day ceremony in Albany.  The children have spent most of the afternoon in the pool.

Albany

On Wednesday we got up early in the morning and got ready to go on a bike ride to Emu Point.  When we got to Emu Point we had some chips at Emu Point cafe.  I also had a yummy strawberry milkshake.  After that we went and sat down at the beach and looked out to sea.  A few minutes later we saw Lucy (one of my best friends who lives in Albany) and Saoirse a girl who is in my class at West Leederville Primary School.  After that Lucy Saoirse My brother and I all had a Ice cream and played on the rocks.  In the evening we had dinner and went to bed.

Albany, Cricket in the sand

Today at kids club we played beach cricket, and do  you know what we  were standing on… SAND!!!!

of course. The losing teams captain died from his sister and we buried him in the sand then we put R.I.P to show he was dead. Just Joking!!!

On the 23/4/13 (Tuesday) we woke up had breakfast and went to Kids club.  At Kids club we were playing beach cricket.  After beach cricket we went back into the room and had some fruit and danced to music.  Later in the afternoon Georgia, Luella and I went in the Spa and Pool.  Then I got out had a shower and had dinner.

Albany

The next day in the morning I woke up with a start!  I was so excited about going to Kids Club and meeting some new friends.  When I was there we were making musical Instruments with straws.  At Kids club I met a very nice girl called Georgia, a funny girl called Taylor and another girl called Luella.  After Kids club Luella and I went to the pool and spa to have a swim.  After that we all had a ride around the campsite on our bikes and scooters!  While we were doing that I met yet another friend called Kyla (WHAO! thats a lot of friends to meet in one day!).  Well think again It’s not for the Mawles.  For dinner I had a yummy plate of baked beans, sausages, meatballs and tomato sauce!  And for our delicious dessert we had massive mars bars with ice cream in them.
